We were ecstatic when we heard about the province’s plan to build Full-Scale Schools in high growth Calgary communities.
We were just talking about how modular classrooms are cheaper to build (see here) but are costing more to maintain in a long run. The province had decided to cancel 12 starter schools, 6 in Calgary, featuring 10 modular classrooms plus office and washroom. With the wait of “a couple more months”, we’ll get 6 fully fledged schooling infrastructure with library and gym and can host 3 times as much of students in 2016/ 17. A very good news for Calgarians, our calls got answered.
Communities with proposed New Full-Scale Schools are
Public Board: West Springs, Saddle Ridge, Cranston and Aspen
Separate Board (Catholic): SkyView Ranch and Silverado
