Junior and Senior Tutors

3 Positions: Math Tutor (Junior, Non-Travel)
2 Positions: Math & Chemistry Tutor (Senior, Non-Travel)

MathPro is the largest One-on-One tutoring centre in Calgary. Our progressive teaching methodology had won hearts of hundreds of students and parents. In 2011, we provided assistance to 176 students by providing more than 1500 One-on-One individualized tutoring sessions with 22 tutors.

The positions will commence immediately. MathPro has one of the lowest staff turnover rate in the industry.

Details:

  • Unlike other tutoring operations, MathPro tutors are not required to travel to students' homes or noisy public locations, which often take up hefty traveling time. At MathPro, all tutoring sessions are carried out in our center at set times, which is conveniently located at Northmount Dr. and 14St.
  • Tutors are to provide One-on-One tutoring to students at MathPro Learning Center NW location, assist students in improving academic achievements by meeting with them on a regular basis to clarify learning problems and work on study skills.
  • Other assistance might include: reviewing class material, discussing the text, predicting test questions, formulating ideas for papers, or working on solutions to problems.
  • Back-to-back classes will be arranged to save traveling time.
  • Training and orientation will be provided.
  • Hours are flexible.
  • No minimum hours required.

Qualifications (Junior Tutor):

  • No high school students
  • Competent in one of the subjects; Mathematics (Math30Pure + Calculus)
  • Experience is an asset, but not required. Proper support and training will be provided.
  • 80% (A- or above) standings in the relevant course(s)
  • Must possess a strong overall academic standing
  • Punctual, responsible, dependable, and mature
  • Provide 3 references
  • Applicant must agree to undertake written internal assessment tests for the subjects of which he/she wishes to tutor, no exception

Qualifications (Senior Tutor):

  • In addition to the qualifications of Junior Tutor, a senior must be must
    • be competent in the subject of Mathematics plus Chemistry
    • have prior tutoring experience (voluntary experience does not count)

Salary:

Junior Tutor : $14 - $16 per hour (depending on experience and assessment results)
Senior Tutor : $17 and up (depending on experience and assessment results)
