Guarantee Entrance (putting UC ranking at risk)
With the Guarantee Entrance system, students are guaranteed to receive admission offers into corresponding faculties even if they just met the standards that were announced in advance. This system accept all students meeting such requirements and that stretches the limit of university resources thin. Because of the Guarantee Entrance system, University of Calgary are often ranked poorly against other universities that follows the widely practiced Competitive System.

As of Fall2003, University of Calgary no longer guarantee admissions. Students achieving minimum faculty requirements are no longer guaranteed to be admitted.
